Survivor Day Dinner
Tickets: https://www.bryceriverfoundation.org/survivor-day
If you have lost someone you love to suicide, you know that grief can feel isolating in a way that is difficult for others to understand.
The Bryce River Foundation’s annual Survivor Dinner is a free evening created specifically for survivors of suicide loss throughout Southwest Louisiana. It is a chance to gather around a table with people who understand this road, share a meal, and be reminded that none of us have to walk through grief alone.
This year, we are honored to welcome Lisa and Jordan Tabor of Baton Rouge as our guest speakers. Lisa and Jordan lost their 15-year-old son, Owen, to suicide in April 2023. In his memory, they founded the Rain Will Bring Flowers Foundation, which has grown into a statewide effort focused on youth suicide prevention, mental wellness, and creating more open conversations about mental health.
Their story is one of unimaginable loss, but also of love, purpose, hope, and what can happen when survivors choose to walk alongside one another.
Doors open at 6:00 PM
Dinner served at 6:30 PM
Program begins at 7:00 PM
There is no cost to attend, but registration is requested so that we can prepare a place at the table for everyone joining us.
Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, you are welcome here. Come as you are. Sit with people who understand. Share a meal with us. And know that you are not alone.
Soul Shop for Faith Leaders
Registration: https://www.bryceriverfoundation.org/soul-shop
Soul Shop™ for Faith Leaders is a workshop for clergy, lay pastors, and faith-based clinicians. It aims to help them build safe communities and prepare them to address suicide as a standard part of their work and life. This crucial training is designed to equip faith community leaders with the skills to provide support, hope, and connection to those affected by suicide. It's not just for clergy—it’s also for lay leaders and anyone who feels called to respond to the desperate need for suicide prevention and support within their community. Join us for a one-day workshop on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, at the McNeese BCM to equip faith community leaders with essential skills to engage with church members in direct conversations and guidance through depression, suicidal ideation and overall mental wellness.
Ride Towards Tomorrow
Registration: https://www.bikereg.com/ride-towards-tomorrow
Bryce River fostered a love of cycling and bike repair so hosting a bike ride seemed to make a lot of sense. Cycling was a coping mechanism for his depression, and it served him well over the years. Exercise has also been proven to be beneficial to your mental health.
All proceeds will benefit the Bryce River Foundation and our mission to reduce and prevent suicide.
The ride features four routes: a 3-mile Ruck With You, a 7-mile Family Ride, a 27-mile intermediate route, and a 50-mile advanced route. The 50-mile route will have an option to be shortened if a cutoff time is not met (more details in registration). There are also registration options for folks who wish to support the event but don't care to ride ("Please Don't Make Me Ride!").
For the 2nd year in a row, we are adding a 3-mile ruck.
This event will also have things for the whole family including a pop-up vendor market, fun jumps, and more. Please join us as we Ride Towards Tomorrow!
